Alabama Vs. Tennessee Final Score: Tide Toy With Rivals Before Winning By 31

The Third Saturday In October is a rivalry made for streaks, based on its hist'ry. And as expected, the Alabama Crimson Tide has made it five in a row against the Tennessee Volunteers, pulling away with a 37-6 victory in Tuscaloosa.

A.J. McCarron and Marquis Maze connected for the highlights, including a 69-yarder, as the Tide racked up 294 yards through the air. Trent Richardson pounded in 77 yards and a pair of scores, and that's that.

The Bama defense limited the Vols to 154 yards for the game after giving up only 63 in the first half. Tennessee apparently saw enough of Matt Simms (eight-for-17, 58 yards and a pick) to pull him for true freshman Justin Worley, who'd been expected to use a redshirt for the rest of the year.

SEC West apocalypse on Nov. 5: it remains the destination of the season.

Tennessee Burns QB Justin Worley's Redshirt In Week 8 Vs. Alabama

The Tennessee Volunteers have a dicey quarterback situation for the rest of the season, with starter Tyler Bray sidelined for a couple more weeks or so. After Matt Simms struggled against OHH JUST the LSU Tigers and Alabama Crimson Tide, the Vols sent true freshman Justin Worley onto the field for his first playing time of the year.

The ballyhooed youngster was set to redshirt for the year, but the Vols look to have welcomed a full quarterback quandary by giving the six-foot-four passer from South Carolina some playing time.

Just strange to do so more than halfway through the season. And with a couple minutes to go in a guaranteed loss. And with the starter scheduled to come back before the season ends. We're not here to judge.

The Vols get the South Carolina Gamecocks next week, and you'd have to think Worley will suddenly make his first career start.

Tennessee Vs. Alabama Halftime Score: Tie Ballgame At Bryant-Denny

Hands in the air if you expected the Tennessee Volunteers to be within a field goal of the Alabama Crimson Tide at halftime, let alone to have the same number of field goals. It's 6-6 at the break (shoot over here for score updates and live discussion). Your hands are down.

How have they done it? For one, Trent Richardson has only 37 yards on 10 attempts, along with three from Eddie Lacy. While A.J. McCarron's produced a couple of big plays, he's also thrown a pick -- and really isn't built to win a SEC game without a running attack.

UT's offense is ... well, it's determined, with Tauren Poole rushing 14 times and Matt Simms unfurling 13 efforts. None of them went much of anywhere, other than a 21-yard grab by Da'Rick Rogers. But still! Six points!

Alabama Vs. Tennessee Score: Take A Picture, Vols

At the end of the first quarter, the Tennessee Volunteers have forced a tie with the Alabama Crimson Tide (head here for score updates and discussion throughout the game). This sort of thing isn't likely to last by any means, but it is a reminder that despite their colossal depth disadvantage, the Vols are capable of hanging with anybody for a moment or two.

Still, Bama has nearly doubled up UT on the yardage front, which is a pretty important front, 112 to 63. They've done it despite only 17 yards from Trent Richardson, with A.J. McCarron throwing for 96 yards in nine attempts -- almost all of that a 69-yard gain by Marquis Maze.
