The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were set to have a slew of recruits on hand even before local sharpshooter Gunner Kiel de-committed from the Indiana Hoosiers and revealed he'd be in South Bend on Saturday. I don't know if I'd entrust my entire recruiting class to putting on a wonderful showing against a master of chaos like Lane Kiffin, but egad, y'all:
Mixed with the 51 players, who are reported to be on campus this weekend, are 13 from the 2012 class already committed to the Irish and another 13 high school seniors still considering their options. Plus, Notre Dame will have 25 players from the 2013 class on campus.
Not a whole lot of slouches among that collection, either. The biggest prizes, according to Rivals:
- Gunner Kiel, No. 1 pro-style quarterback
- Keith Marshall, No. 1 all-purpose back
- John Theus, No. 2 offensive tackle
- Ifeadi Odenigbo, No. 4 weakside defensive end
- Arik Armstead, No. 4 strongside defensive end
- Zach Banner, No. 7 offensive tackle
- Brian Poole, No. 8 cornerback
- Bryce Treggs, No. 14 wide receiver
