The Arkansas Razorbacks, ranked ninth in this week's BCS rankings and 16 point favorites over the Ole Miss Rebels this week, find themselves in a 10-0 hole early in the second quarter on Saturday. An offense that's averaging an SEC-best 466 yards of total offense per game had both of its first-quarter drives stall, the first a three-and-out, the second a turnover on downs on the Ole Miss 49-yard-line.
Ole Miss kicked a field goal following Arkansas' punt, taking over the ball on their side of the 50. The Rebels only needed to go 25 yards in six plays to put themselves in field goal range. Bryson Rose had no problems on the 43-yard field goal.
On their third possession of the game, Ole Miss needed just three plays for a touchdown. Quarterback Randall Mackey found Donte Moncrief 31 yards on the touchdown pass, putting the Razorbacks on upset alert. Houston Nutt has been taking a lot of flak this season, but he is 2-1 in his career against his former Razorbacks as head coach at Ole Miss.
Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson is just 3-for-6 passing on the day for 27 yards.
