One of the developing themes of the college football season has been the question of whether LSU and a handful of other teams are playing on another level than everyone else. Auburn would probably say "yes" right about now.
Auburn has scored 35 unanswered points to take a 42-7 lead at the end of the third quarter, a lead that will likely be at least 45-3 and maybe 49-3 shortly after the fourth quarter starters. And it's not just the points and yards the Bayou Bengals are piling up -- there's actually been a few moments when medical professionals might have been needed to check the pulse of Auburn kickoff returners.
Jarrett Lee has thrown for a touchdown, Kenny Hilliard has added a rushing touchdown and Ron Brooks had a 28-yard pick-six off of Clint Moseley -- all in the third quarter. That took an already intimidating 21-3 lead by LSU to its current, insurmountable heights.
