Georgia Tech Vs. Miami Final: Hurricanes Shut Down Option To Knock Off Jackets

Stay connected with SB Nation

How do you win against a conference contender with a quarterback who goes 8-of-23 for 102 yards and an interception? Part of it might just be playing in college football's craziest conference, but part of it could be completely shutting down the Georgia Tech triple-option attack.

Georgia Tech managed just 124 yards on the ground, a disappointing total for some teams who don't rely on the running game as much as the Yellow Jackets do. That came on 47 rushing attempts, an average of 2.6 yards per carry. Again, if you had told a Georgia Tech fan about that stat line before the game, and they would have been worried. Your quarterback play can't fix that by going 7-of-14 for 77 yards and an interception.
