The Northwestern Wildcats are looking to end a four-game losing streak and Saturday's game against the Penn St. Nittany Lions could be the night that happens. In the second quarter, the Wildcats are down by just three points, 17-14.
Wildcats quarterback Dan Persa is responsible for both Northwestern touchdowns. He provided the book ends on scoring in the first quarter by rushing for a one-yard touchdown to start the game and then throwing a 12-yard strike to Kain Colter with less than two minutes remaining in the quarter.
In between those scores, Penn State quarterback Matthew McGloin threw two touchdown passes, including a 45-yarder to Devon Smith. Anthony Fera put the Lions up, 17-14, with a 37-yard field goal early in the second quarter.
