At the end of the first quarter, the Tennessee Volunteers have forced a tie with the Alabama Crimson Tide (head here for score updates and discussion throughout the game). This sort of thing isn't likely to last by any means, but it is a reminder that despite their colossal depth disadvantage, the Vols are capable of hanging with anybody for a moment or two.
Still, Bama has nearly doubled up UT on the yardage front, which is a pretty important front, 112 to 63. They've done it despite only 17 yards from Trent Richardson, with A.J. McCarron throwing for 96 yards in nine attempts -- almost all of that a 69-yard gain by Marquis Maze.
