USC Vs. Notre Dame Score: Robert Woods Doubles Early Trojans Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

No matter how gold the Notre Dame Fighting Irish helmets may be, the USC Trojans have still rumbled to a 14-0 first quarter lead in South Bend (for constant score updates and discussion, head here). They're really gold, though, so good job.

Robert Woods brought in a dart from Matt Barkley after a similar touchdown grab by Randall Telfer. Few expected the offensive fireworks in this one to come from USC, and, well, they were really short passes, so they weren't quite fireworks. But we all know what we mean here.

Through 14 minutes, Notre Dame has nine yards. It would be 10 or so, but Jonas Gray lost a pair of yards. You never want to be held to single digits.
