The Michigan State Spartans fans didn't have a whole lot to cheer about in the opening eight minutes of their game against the Wisconsin Badgers. UW got the ball first and drove down the field easily, going 80 yards in 11 plays for a touchdown via a Russell Wilson touchdown pass. Michigan State quickly turned the ball over and UW scored a second time with a Montee Ball run. In the first eight minutes, Wisconsin had 115 yards and was up by 14.

Michigan State's second drive didn't produce anything either, but they have some hope. Their highly rated defense has finally stepped up, picking off Wilson on Wisconsin's third drive. On the first play of their drive and the last play of the first quarter, Le'veon Bell rushed for 32 yards, getting the Spartans out to midfield. Momentum seems to be turning as the second quarter starts, but Sparty is in need of a score in this 14-0 game.
