The Third Saturday In October is a rivalry made for streaks, based on its hist'ry. And as expected, the Alabama Crimson Tide has made it five in a row against the Tennessee Volunteers, pulling away with a 37-6 victory in Tuscaloosa.
A.J. McCarron and Marquis Maze connected for the highlights, including a 69-yarder, as the Tide racked up 294 yards through the air. Trent Richardson pounded in 77 yards and a pair of scores, and that's that.
The Bama defense limited the Vols to 154 yards for the game after giving up only 63 in the first half. Tennessee apparently saw enough of Matt Simms (eight-for-17, 58 yards and a pick) to pull him for true freshman Justin Worley, who'd been expected to use a redshirt for the rest of the year.
SEC West apocalypse on Nov. 5: it remains the destination of the season.
