Since these teams busted out of the gate so strongly, this game has been circled on the schedule as the biggest ACC match of the year. Is it still? (8 pm ET, ABC; dive here for Clemson-Georgia Tech score updates and here for game stories from around the country).
Clemson has shocked everyone by not collapsing yet, and the Tigers remain undefeated and are No. 5 in the country. Their offense is downright terrifying: Tajh Boyd has been more or less on a season-long tear behind center, freshman Sammy Watkins might be the fastest player in the country and has a pair of hands on him as well, and Andre Ellington is a horse in the backfield when the Tigers need him to be.
Georgia Tech, on the other hand, has been a good, not great, team for years, using head coach Paul Johnson's triple-option offense to maximum capability at times. This year, quarterback Tevin Washington momentarily added a vertical element to the offense they haven't had in past years, while running back Orwin Smith is averaging more than 12 yards a carry to keep defenses on their heels.
