Stats Watch: Northwestern On Pace For 800 Yards, And More

Surveying college football box scores for oddities:

Kent State scored a touchdown today, giving them as many on the season as Case Keenum threw Thursday night alone.

The Northwestern Wildcats have 405 yards at the half against the Indiana Hoosiers. Their per-game average: 405, 51st in the country. Indiana's defensive per-game average: 438, 107th in the country.*

Dan Persa's averaging 16 yards per attempt.

The Marshall Thundering Herd have 38 points at the break. Their season high so far: 28. Then again, they're playing the UAB Blazers.

Kirk Cousins and Taylor Martinez have now combined to go seven-of-23. Logan Thomas and Sean Renfree have gone 19-of-36.

The Michigan Wolverines have passed for more yards (182) than they've rushed for (162). They rank 16th in the nation in running and 96th in passing.

Ryan Nassib and Teddy Bridgewater have been sacked a total five times just after the half.

* Seconds after I published this, Northwestern added 60 more to open the third quarter.
