If it wasn't apparent by now, De'Anthony Thomas and the Oregon Ducks offense are a match made in heaven. Give the little speedster a bit of space and watch him go to work. It doesn't matter how he gets the ball -- handoff, quick throw, downfield, even a kick return -- he just makes highlight reel plays.
The latest came against Washington State as Thomas made a safety look absolutely foolish with two quick cuts at full speed. The result was a hilarious gif and a touchdown.
It's just not even fair sometimes.

Isn't that by the NCAA's definition a pre-TD celebration penalty?
How does LSU punter’s get flagged and not that? Am I not understanding that rule?

It's neither taunting nor excessive, which is why it's not illegal.

(I mean, I suppose that “excessive” is in the eye of the beholder, but if you’d have asked the ref, I think that’s what he would have said.)

I didn't think it was flag worthy (granted I wouldn't have minded) but I also didn't think the LSU punter's was either.
I was just curious as to why it wasn’t, I thought any sort of pre-TD activity would be flagged. Now I know it’s just taunting!

I actually just rewatched the LSU punter's call.
Do you all think that was excessive?

Not really
but I could see the case being made for or against.

True
And with this one, the official probably figured the poor kid couldn’t possibly be humiliated anymore than he already was with the sick move Thomas put on him.

^^ This...
I think that is the ultimate determination… LSU’s punter directed his “high step” (?) and celebration at an opponent… DAThomas above raises his arm to the sky, not directing it at an opponent, therefore celebration and not taunting…

That's a good explanation.
I didn’t realize they differentiated between celebration and taunting even before the endzone.
