Marcus Forston Injury: Another Starting Miami Defender Lost For Season

Miami defensive tackle Marcus Forston will miss the rest of the season due to a knee injury.

The Miami Hurricanes have lost starting defensive tackle Marcus Forston for the season due to a knee injury, the team announced Thursday. Forston suffered the setback in practice on Wednesday.

He's the second defensive starter the Hurricanes have lost this week after outside linebacker Ramon Buchanan also went down due to a knee injury. Both were hurt on non-contact plays as well.

Forston, a junior, had been leaning toward the NFL Draft, but now he's all but certain to return for 2012. It's the second time he's had to miss most of a season due to injury. He used a medical redshirt in 2009. Since being suspended for the first game of the season, he's registered five tackles and a sack.

The Canes could certainly use him against the Virginia Tech Hokies this weekend, as David Wilson is capable of putting 100 yards on anybody and Miami's defense ranks 106th in the nation in yards per rush allowed.
