Derek Dooley's mother was not happy about some of the things written about her son, the head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers football team, and decided to air her grievances in a very public way. And we're all better for it. Barbara Dooley took to the radio airwaves on WGAU and let loose on the sportswriters who had teed-up her son, launching into a rant that was an instant classic.
Can't help but tip a cap and applaud Mrs. Dooley for her efforts. Video and a transcript after the jump.

Mrs. Dooley: I want you to listen about my baby. First of all...
Radio host: We have a congressman standing by...
Mrs. Dooley: Well he can just wait. Football is important. Let me say this: Derek Dooley walked into a kind of a mess. And y'all are now tellin' me that Derek Dooley's on the damn hot seat? Are y'all crazy? You got mama's rilled up now, buddy. You know he played 17 freshman against Florida?
I just want you to be nice and fair and know that you've probably got the greatest coach in the country and he's gon' be there 25 years.
This was the best. It was all just amazing. Never, ever make a football coach's mother angry.
