How is Maryland's Danny O'Brien doing this week in Atlanta after a rough start to the year? Well, when you're 1-of-6 for 17 yards and an interception, the question kind of answers itself. And that's part of the storyline as Georgia Tech has staked out a 14-3 lead against the Terps after the first half.
As for Tech's triple-option offense -- so far, so good. Tevin Washington has rushed for 65 yards on 13 carries, including a seven-yard touchdown run. In all, the Jackets have rung up 177 yards on the ground on 29 carries, an average of 6.2 yards a pop. The other score belongs to Orwin Smith, who took the ball 10 yards for the second touchdown of the day.
Maryland's ground game hasn't exactly been bad in it's own right. The Terps have managed 72 yards on 21 carries despite the complete lack of a threat from the passing game. Nick Ferrara's 30-yard field goal remains the only points for Maryland.
