Wake Forest Vs. Florida State Score: Deacons Widen Lead To 11 In Final Moments

Stay connected with SB Nation

If Florida State's season-opening dreams of an ACC title weren't already in life support, the brewing upset against Wake Forest ought to do the trick -- as long as Wake can hold on. The Deacons hold an 11-point lead late in the fourth quarter after a sloppy effort by the Seminoles that has included four turnovers.

Tanner Price is carving up the Florida State secondary with ease, going 21-of-33 for 256 yards and four touchdowns. His counterparts for the Seminoles have gone 16-of-32 for 227 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions. Meanwhile, Josh Harris of Wake Forest is the only player to make much noise running the ball, carrying it 13 times for 136 yards.

It's not over yet, and the curtain won't fall on the Florida State season if the Seminoles end up losing this one. But Tallahassee also won't be the happiest city in the nation.
