Tajh Boyd Injury: Clemson QB Carted Off, Apparently Hurt Knee

Stay connected with SB Nation

Star Clemson Tigers quarterback Tajh Boyd was carted off the field Saturday against the Boston College Eagles after suffering what appeared to be a left knee injury. He was able to put a little weight on his leg while making his way onto the cart. Clemson announced he'd be taken into the locker room for X-rays.

Boyd suffered an awkward hit while unloading a 62-yard pass to Sammy Watkins, then was hit again two plays later while completing a five-yard pass to Dwayne Allen. If you're looking for a reason why Clemson is 5-0 and likely to reach 6-0, Boyd's play so far is as big as any. Good news would mean a lot for Tigers fans.

True freshman Cole Stoudt took over for Boyd with about two quarters left in the game.
