It's still early, only halftime, but Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas appears to be having his best game of the year against a slumping Miami team. Thomas is 15-of-16 for 191 yards and two touchdowns so far, and the Hokies have staked out a 21-7 lead at home entering the locker room.
Tech has already rolled up 250 yards behind Thomas so far. The quarterback ran for seven yards to score the game's first points, then added touchdown strikes of 40 yards to Danny Coale and three yards to David Wilson to build the Hokies' lead.
For Miami, Jacory Harris has gone 6-of-10 for 129 yards and the touchdown, a 15-yard throw to Allen Hurns. He has four passes of 24 or more yards today, but Miami has either gone for it on fourth down or been unable to sustain a drive with one exception so far.
