Adam James, the son of a still-employed ESPN analyst who once paid a public relations firm to coerce his own employer into getting a Texas Tech Red Raiders coach fired, has just scored a touchdown for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. For James, who has a horrible reputation based on recorded interviews with pretty much everyone he's ever met, this is career touchdown No. 3 and the first since 2009, when Mike Leach was his head coach.
It's also the first catch James, the son of a former college star whose school was given the harshest punishment in NCAA history shortly after his exit, has secured this year. His best year came in 2009 under Leach, who was fired after Craig James claimed the coach had locked Adam James in an electrical closet despite Adam James' admission in court that Leach had, in fact, not.
Texas Tech is tied with Texas A&M, 7-7, thanks to the touchdown by James, who's also, in a roundabout way, responsible for Bruce Feldman's momentary exile just before this college football season.
Seth Doege threw the two-yard pass.
