The Vanderbilt Commodores put up a noble fight against the Alabama Crimson Tide in the first half, but trail, 14-0. If not for a last-minute laser of a touchdown by A.J. McCarron and two missed Vandy field goals, this game could easily be more like 10-6. But it's not, and Bama will probably win. Life is hard.
Alabama has converted five of its eight third downs, compared to Vandy's one of five, giving the Tide the chance to run one more rushing play and 12 more passes than the Dores. McCarron is 18-of-23 for 143 yards and two touchdowns, a surprisingly passy showing for Alabama.
Marquis Maze is the only other offensive player putting up noteworthy numbers, having pulled down seven catches for 67 yards.
