Billed as the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry, the matchup between Georgia and Auburn traces its origins back to the late 19th century. On Saturday, the Tigers and Bulldogs meet for the 115th time, taking the field in Athens in an SEC battle. Both teams come into this weekend's matchup ranked: Georgia is at No. 15 and Auburn is at No. 20. Georgia comes in atop the SEC East while Auburn finds itself in fourth-place in the West, behind No. 1 LSU among others.
The rivalry is about as even as it gets, both in record and points scored. Auburn leads the series by a razor-thin margin coming into this season's matchup while Georgia holds the edge in points scored. Last year's win by the Tigers snapped a four-game win streak in the rivalry by Georgia and was a stepping stone in Auburn's run to the BCS Championship.
Here's the rivalry history and information.
