Oklahoma State Vs. Texas Tech Score: Cowboys Strike First, And Easily

Stay connected with SB Nation

Oklahoma State is playing as the No. 2 team in the nation for the first time in program history in Week 11. It's perhaps unsurprising that the Cowboys are also playing like they would like to remain the No. 2 team in the nation for more than just this week against Texas Tech. In the first quarter, Oklahoma State's up 21-0 on the Red Raiders.

Brandon Weeden has keyed the scoring so far, throwing for 150 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter. A fumble recovery by the Cowboys helped them score their second of three touchdowns in the quarter, and added to an opportunistic defense's tremendous turnover margin in the 2011 season. Oklahoma State came into the game with 17 more takeaways than giveaways, and that number seems likely to swell as this Saturday wears on.
