Texas Tech beat Oklahoma this year. Considering the fusillade Oklahoma State has rained on the Red Raiders, it seems that the Cowboys were aware of that fact, and determined to avoid a similar fate. And they've rung up a staggering 49-0 halftime lead as a result.
Brandon Weeden has thrown for 282 yards and three touchdowns, Joseph Randle has three rushing touchdowns on the ground, and the Cowboys have forced three turnovers: this is, essentially, how Oklahoma State beats teams, with opportunistic defense and devastating offense.
Here are a couple of stunning statistics after that first half: Oklahoma State's defense has 34 takeaways in 38 quarters of play this season, and Texas Tech has been outscored 173-44 in 12 quarters since taking a 24-7 lead to halftime against Oklahoma.
