Clemson is already down to Wake Forest in Week 11, and the Tigers may have to try to make a comeback happen without their most dynamic player. Freshman wide receiver Sammy Watkins has left the game with an injury, and is headed to the locker room, reportedly after having his right shoulder and ribs examined.
Without Watkins, Clemson's chances of a comeback would seem to be fairly slim. He's totaled nearly 200 yards today, between receiving, rushing, and returning kicks, and he's been Clemson's most reliable big-play threat all season.
Watkins has 11 touchdowns in the 2011 season. 10 of those have come on receptions, with another coming on a kickoff return.
