Miami Vs. Florida State Final Score: Seminoles Send Hurricanes To 5th Loss, 23-19

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Florida St. Seminoles had to sweat things out late in its 23-19 victory over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday afternoon. The Seminoles had essentially wrapped up the game in the second quarter when they scored two touchdowns in the last five minutes, but those final minutes of the game always prove to be a contest.

Miami had taken a 7-3 lead earlier in the second quarter when Jacory Harris found Clive Walford for a two-yard touchdown pass with about eight minutes left to play in the quarter. Three minutes later, EJ Manuel connected with Rodney Smith for a 21-yard touchdown pass. With less than one minute remaining, Greg Reid returned a punt 83 yards for a touchdown and a 17-7 halftime lead.

Florida State managed just two field goals in the second half. In the final seven minutes of the game Miami scored two touchdowns. Mike James rushed for both touchdowns, but the two-point conversion failed on both tries.
