Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson left Saturday's matchup with Illinois after suffering a mysterious injury, but it didn't matter as the Wolverines rolled to a 31-14. Robinson's backup, Devin Gardner, threw the only passing touchdown of the game as the ground game took center-stage for the Wolverines once again.
Fitzgerald Toussaint rushed for a game-high 192 yards and a touchdown in the win for the Wolverines, For comparison's sake, Illinois rushed for just 37 yards on 33 carries as a team. Robinson finished with 30 yards and two touchdowns on the ground while completing 6-10 passes for 92 yards and an interception.
Nathan Scheelhaase led the way through the air, finishing with a game-high 170 yards. However, Scheelhaase was unable to find the end zone, throwing no touchdowns and one interception.
