TCU Vs. Boise State Final Score: Frogs Win, 36-35, Blue Puns Are Made

For the second year in a row, Boise State may have kicked itself out of the BCS. Remember how the Mountain West scheduled this game in Boise in order to punish TCU?

TCU Vs. Boise State Final Score: Two-Point Call Ends Broncos' Streak

For months, this game has been circled as the Boise St. Broncos only potential challenge of the year, besides their opener against the Georgia Bulldogs. And a challenge it was! The TCU Horned Frogs walk away with a 36-35 victory in Boise. Nobody ever beats Boise State in Boise.

TCU had the chance to tie with a minute to go, but elected to go for two points to take a one-point lead. Casey Pachall found Josh Boyce near the goal line -- Boyce nearly saw the ball get picked off, but shrugged a tackler and made his way from blue turf to orange turf. Here's video of the play:

The Broncos' emergency strategy appeared to be having Kellen Moore hurl the ball as far as possible while hoping for pass interference calls. Referees didn't bite until a fourth down near midfield, flagging an uncatchable pass. Whatever works. The drive remained alive, and Boise State reached field goal territory.

A 37-yard field goal attempt sailed wide right, and there you have it.

Boise State hasn't lost at home in 10 years. The Broncos haven't lost a conference game at home since 1998. For once, TCU isn't threatening to crash the BCS. But for once, Boise State suddenly isn't. I blame the Mountain West for insisting on non-blue home uniforms.

TCU Vs. Boise State Halftime Score: Upset Alert? Upset Alert!

We don't get to say this very often, but the Boise St. Broncos are losing at halftime. At home! To a lowly conference rival! Actually, the last part is made up,  the TCU Horned Frogs appear to have gotten over their early funk. The score is 20-14.

Taking the field in orange-and-white due to the Mountain West's decree against blue-on-blue-on-blue, Boise State has given up three touchdowns and 286 yards to Casey Pachall, with Josh Boyce pulling in 161 of those yards. Despite that onslaught and a lost fumble, the Broncos are down by only a score. Sort of amazing.

Kellen Moore is 13-of-18 for 126 yards, while D.J. Harper has posted 95 on the ground already. Can't help but feel like the Broncos are just fine, despite the very rare deficit and TCU getting the ball to start the third. We'll see!

TCU Vs. Boise State Score: Broncos, Horned Frogs Look Primed For High-Scoring Affair

The Boise St. Broncos and TCU Horned Frogs are battling on Saturday afternoon in a game that feels like the end of an era, as Boise St. will leave the Mountain West Conference next season. The Broncos started the rivalry game off strong, however, as the lead 7-0 early in the game before TCU knotted it up with a long touchdown of its own.

Kellen Moore completed four of his five passing attempts on the opening drive for 38 yards. Those statistics aren't inherently impressive, but they eventually culminated in a touchdown for the Broncos when Moore connected with Matt Miller on a 22-yard pass.

The Horned Frogs were not quite as successful on their first drive of the game, however, going three and out. They made up for that on the second drive, however, as Casey Pachall was able to hit wide receiver Josh Boyce in stride for a quick 74-yard strike on its second possession.
