Henry Josey Injury: Missouri RB Tears Three Knee Tendons, According To Report

Missouri running back Henry Josey suffered a gruesome leg injury in the Tigers' win over Texas on Saturday afternoon. Josey, the Tigers' leading rusher and workhorse out of the backfield, tore three tendons in his left knee and will be out of action for a significant amount of time as a result.

Earlier reports indicated Josey had suffered some kind of rupture, but it turns out the injury was far worse than anticipated.

Just heard news about Tigers' Henry Josey. Triple tear--ACL, MCL, patellar tendon. Please keep him in your prayers.

Just an absolutely awful injury for any player to have to go through. He'll likely have a long road of rehab ahead after surgery to reconstruct his knee. Thoughts go out to the sophomore as he recovers.

For the season, Josey had 1,149 yards and nine touchdowns on 134 attempts for the Tigers, an average of 8.9 yards per carry.

Henry Josey Injury: Ruptured Tendon Could End Season For Missouri Running Back

The Missouri Tigers have quite a few options on the offensive side of the ball, as Saturday's victory over the Texas Longhorns detailed, but running back Henry Josey will seemingly no longer be one of them. The sophomore went down in the third quarter with a serious knee injury that could keep him out for the remainder of the college football season.

The running back was planting to make a cut along the left sideline before his knee gave out. The early diagnosis, courtesy of the Kansas City Star's Mike DeArmond, is not good.

Orthodepic surgeon Dr. Pat Smith just told me Henry Josey is "Done. Done for the year." Ruptured tendon in left knee. Will still have an MRI.

Josey carried the ball 134 times this season for 1,149 yards and nine touchdowns prior to the injury. Considering he was averaging nearly nine yards per carry, it will be nearly impossible for Mizzou to replace one of their biggest big-play threats.

Texas Vs. Missouri Final Score: First Half Offense Is All Tigers Need To Win, 17-3

Missouri did not score in the final 23 minutes of its game against Texas today. The good news for the Tigers is that they didn't have to.

Missouri put two touchdowns on the board in the first half, tacked on a field goal early in the second and then shut down the Longhorns' offense for the 17-5 win. James Franklin started the game on fire, then settled down slightly to go 18-of-26 for 192 yards. Franklin and Kendial Lawrence both rushed for touchdowns, as Lawrence had 105 yards on 18 carries.

Texas' offense, meanwhile, managed just 249 yards of total offense on 65 plays. David Ash was 15-of-32 for 166 yards and an interception. Texas' top rusher, Jeremy Hills, ground out 36 yards on 11 carries. Now, the Longhorns wait to see if the loss will drop them from the Top 25.

Texas Vs. Missouri Score Update: Longhorns Get A Safety But Still Trail

Texas has scored the ever-interesting safety against Missouri. A half-dozen more of those, and they'll have this thing all tied up.

The Longhorns still trail, 17-5, after the 12-yard loss by James Franklin to give them two more points. That followed a Trey Barrow 19-yard field goal that gave Texas its first score. The safety is almost as effective as anything else Texas has going on right now. Its quarterbacks are a combined 11-of-22 for 103 yards, and the running game has managed just 67 yards as the third quarter comes to a close.

For Missouri, Franklin is 15-of-20 for 178 yards. Kendial Lawrence has 93 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.

Texas Vs. Missouri Halftime Score: Upset Brewing In Columbia

The Missouri Tigers have not been able to defeat the Texas Longhorns since 1997. That seems like it all might change this weekend, however, as Mizzou has taken a a 14-3 lead at halftime after keeping Texas off the scoreboard for the entire second quarter.

The Tigers quarterback, James Franklin, has been the early catalyst for the Missouri offense in the first half. Franklin has had an up and down season thus far, but Saturday looks like it will be an other 'up' week as he's completed 10 of his 12 passing attempts for 115 yards -- and ran in a touchdown to boot.

Running back Kendial Lawrence has also been solid for the Tigers as he's carried eight times for 79 yards and a score as Missouri looks to get away from its current losing record.

As far as Texas is concerned, the No. 16 team in the nation, their offense just hasn't been moving the ball. Quarterback David Ash has completed 8-of-15 for 90 yards, but also has thrown the game's only interception. His running game hasn't been able to help, either, as the Texas backs have combined for 55 yards on 22 attempts.

Texas Vs. Missouri Score: James Franklin Leads Tigers To An Early Lead

James Franklin's season has had its share of ups and downs -- but so far, the game against Texas today would definitely go into the former category. Franklin completed his first nine passes for 113 yards through the air and ran for a two-yard touchdown to give his team an early 7-3 lead.

David Ash hasn't been bad for Texas, going 7-of-12 passing for 70 yards so far. Jeremy Hills is Texas' leading rusher, picking up 30 yards on seven carries; the Longhorns have ground out a total of 48 yards when you include Ash's 12-yard sack. Missouri's running game has 64 yards, including Kendial Lawrence's 31 yards on four rushes.

Fozzy Whittaker Injury: Texas Back's Leg 'Buckles,' Possible Knee Problem

Texas has been running over its opponents of late, and running back "Fozzy" Foswhitt Whittaker has been an integral part of that surge. Unfortunately for the Longhorns, Whittaker has sustained a leg injury early in Texas' Week 11 game against Missouri this Saturday.

The severity of the injury is unclear, but multiple sources on Twitter indicate that it was Whittaker's right knee that was hurt. CBS Sports' Tom Fornelli notes that Whittaker is being examined on the sidelines.

Whittaker had four carries for 15 yards against Missouri before going down. The senior had 151 yards over the last two weeks in Texas' blowout wins over Kansas and Texas Tech, and had compiled a career-high 371 yards in the 2011 season.
