No. 11 Houston looks to remain undefeated when they host SMU on Saturday afternoon.
The No. 11 Houston Cougars will attempt to remain undefeated when they host the 6-3 SMU Mustangs at Robertson Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Houston is 10-0 for the first time in school history and are close to equaling the school-record 12-game winning streak over the 1990-91 seasons. The Cougars Top 10 ranking is the highest they've ranked in the polls since September of 1991.
Leading the Cougars offense, which is the most prolific in NCAA history, is quarterback Case Keenum, who is the NCAA's leader in nearly every major statistical category except completions, where he's seven behind former Texas Tech quarterback Graham Harrell, and 300-yard passing games, where he's one behind former Hawaii Warriors quarterback Timmy Chang.
With at least two games remaining on the schedule, the 300-yard passing game mark is just a formality as Keenum will face an SMU pass defense that ranks 60th in the nation. The Mustangs offense flows through running back Zach Line, a converted linebacker who has 1,224 yards and 17 touchdowns. Line leads Conference-USA in both rushing yards and scoring per game.
Game date, time: 3:30 pm ET, Saturday, November 19
Location: Robertson Stadium, Houston, Texas
TV channel: CBS Sports Network
Spread: Cougars are favored by 19.5 points
Series history: Cougars lead the all-time series, 16-9-1
