The Oregon Ducks host the USC Trojans in an attempt to further secure a spot in a BCS bowl game. Will freshman De'Anthony Thomas, a one-time USC commit, become a factor in the game?
The Oregon Ducks moved to No. 4 in the BCS standings as a result of defeating the Stanford Cardinal last Saturday. They'll face another stiff test with a visit from the USC Trojans on Saturday.
The big story emerging from this game appears to be about Ducks running back De'Anthony Thomas. Once upon a time, Thomas was a USC commit, but at the last second he switched to the Ducks. After one visit to Oregon, Thomas felt like he belonged and soon signed up to be a Duck.
Trojans fans are hoping that Thomas' de-commitment will prove to be a motivating factor for the team, helping to pull off the upset. Thomas, a freshman, has rushed for 366 yards and picked up 423 receiving yards. However, the Trojans will surely be concerned with quarterback Darron Thomas (22 touchdown passes) and star running back LaMichael James (1,207 yards, 12 touchdowns).
