Arizona and Arizona State will compete for the Territorial Cup in Tempe on Saturday night.
Arizona State has lost two straight, including a 37-27 defeat at the hands of the Washington St. Cougars in snowy Pullman last Saturday night. Sun Devils quarterback Brock Osweiler threw for over 350 yards, but the defense allowed freshman quarterback Connor Halliday to throw for 494 yards and four touchdowns. Osweiler leads an offense that ranks 3rd in the Pac-12 with 297.1 passing yards per game this season. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound junior is closing in a 3,000-yard season.
After winning their first game after firing former head coach Mike Stoops, the Wildcats have dropped three in a row, losing to Pac-12 rivals Washington, Utah, and Colorado. With a defense that ranks 12th in the Pac-12 and 109th in the country, senior quarterback Nick Foles has had plenty of opportunities to put the ball in the air. Foles has completed 319-of-466 pass attempts for 3,612 yards with 23 touchdowns and 13 interceptions this season. Fellow senior wideout Juron Criner has 57 catches for 693 yards and eight touchdowns on the season, and is just one score away from tying the school's all-time record.
