Remember years ago, when Jeremy Shockey, then with the New York Giants, was caught pointing into the camera and celebrating as his kicker missed a field goal behind him? Remember the look on his face as he realized his celebration was premature? So that happened again in Ames last night as Oklahoma State missed what would have been the go-ahead, and perhaps game-winning, field goal with just over a minute to go.
And instead of hanging onto its No. 2 ranking and BCS chances, Oklahoma State is left to wonder what might have been. Luckily for us, the jubilation to frustration moment was caught on camera, and boy is it something. Bonus: Brandon Weeden looking on in disbelief, wondering what just happened.
via Land Thieves, of course.
I mean, everything about this gif is perfect. From the premature "hands up, we made it!" celebration, to the realization that "woops, he missed it," to the camera focusing on Weeden as he looks on in disbelief.
And then Weeden threw an interception in double overtime, opening the door for Iowa State. The Cyclones happily ran through the open door, pulling off the surprising upset. College football is the best sometimes.
