It's been a pretty good Saturday so far for the Southern Conference, all of it at the expense of the SEC. The Furman Paladins lead the Florida Gators, while the Citadel and Samford are giving South Carolina and Auburn respective challenges. And that's before the conference's best team, Georgia Southern, takes on ... well, Alabama. Nick Saban's probably not gonna fall for it.
But Bama still has something to lose here. In the middle of a tight BCS race, the Tide's strength of schedule has become an issue. This isn't helping:
@slmandel Worth noting: The Florida team currently losing to Furman is the third-highest rated team Alabama has beaten.
