Few fan bases hate each other quite as much as those of the Missouri Tigers and the Kansas Jayhawks, but, after the 2011 edition, the Border War between the two teams will become a non-conference matchup, giving extra meaning to Saturday's contest.
Unfortunately for fans of college football, the historic faceoff does not pit two powerhouses against each other, but rather one mediocre team, Missouri, against one downright terrible team, Kansas. The Tigers are 6-5, and are coming off their first win streak of the year after beating Texas and Texas Tech in Columbia in consecutive weeks.
Kansas is, well, struggling, to say the least. After beating McNeese State and Northern Illinois to open the year, the Jayhawks have lost nine straight games, including their most recent against Texas A&M 61-7. Fans in Lawrence are thankful that basketball season has arrived, because it's not going to be easy watching the football team lose to their most hated rival for the third straight year.
