Boise State hosts Wyoming on Saturday afternoon in a battle for sole possession of second place in the Mountain West Conference
The seventh-ranked Boise St. Broncos return home from their final road trip of the season to host the Wyoming Cowboys at Bronco Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The Cowboys and Broncos are tied for second place in the Mountain West Conference.
After losing a heart-breaker to the TCU Horned Frogs November 12, the Broncos are coming off a 52-35 win over San Diego State. Senior quarterback Kellen Moore completed 28-of-40 pass attempts for 366 yards and four touchdowns, putting the Heisman Trophy candidate at 2,915 yards and 35 touchdowns on the season and at 13,782 yards and 134 touchdowns on his career. Moore is one passing touchdown away from sole possession of second place on the NCAA's all-time leader board, and is 412 yards from cracking the Top 5 on the all-time passing yards list.
Coming off a 3-9 season in 2010, the Cowboys are 7-3 on the season and became bowl eligible for the second time in three season with their 25-17 win over Air Force on November 12. Freshman quarterback Brett Smith leads an offense that is averaging over 400 yards per game. Smith has completed 60.7 percent of 338 pass attempts for 2,226 yards and 15 touchdowns. With just five interceptions on the season, Smith has a sterling passer efficiency rating of 127.7 and Chris McNeill (42-504-4), Robert Herron (40-348-3) and Mazi Ogbonna (34-385-3) have been his top targets.
