Colorado Vs. Utah Final Score: Utes Fall, Buffs Finally Win A Road Game, UCLA Wins Pac-12 South

UCLA is your Pac-12 South representative in the conference title game, having clinched its spot before playing its final game -- a rivalry matchup with USC on Saturday. The Bruins can thank Colorado for that after the Buffaloes won their first road game in 24 tries. In fact, no player on the Colorado roster had won a road game, until the Buffaloes ended Utah's Pac-12 South hopes with a 17-14 win on Friday.

It was an odd game all-around for Utah, who seemed to have the inside track to the Pac-12 Championship Game, facing a struggling Colorado squad while UCLA had to face a red-hot USC team. But Utah struggled out of the gate, falling into a 10-0 hole at the half. In the third quarter, matters went from bad to worse as star running back John White IV had to be helped off the field with an ankle injury.

Still, Utah was able to mount a comeback, cutting the Colorado lead to three by the end of the third quarter, 17-14. But Coleman Petersen, the kicker who was nails in a win over Washington State last week, couldn't come through for the Utes, despite ample opportunities in the fourth quarter. Petersen was 0-3 on the day, including a miss that would've tied it midway through the final frame and a miss just before time expired.

Colorado finally got a road win, Utah's Pac-12 South hopes fell by the wayside and UCLA, idle on the day, secured its berth in the championship game with the Buffs 17-14 victory.

Sam Brenner Injury: Utah Lineman Taken Off Field By Ambulance

Utah Utes offensive lineman Sam Brenner has sufered a neck injury during the third quarter of Utah's game against the Colorado Buffaloes and has been taken off the field by an ambulance.

Brenner reportedly has full movement and has been taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Brenner is a junior who missed time at the beginning of the season with an elbow injury as well.

The Utes have also lost RB Josh White to injury in the game and their offense has struggled all day. In spite of that, they scored their first touchdown of the day in the third quarter, a three-yard Tauni Vakapuna run.

Colorado leads Utah 10-7 with ten minutes remaining in the third quarter but the Utes are on the move to make this a game. All the more impressive given the injuries suffered on offense in this game.

Utah vs. Colorado Halftime Score: Buffs Hold Surprising 10-0 Lead

The Utah Utes has won four straight games to remain in contention for a spot in the inaugural Pac 12 championship game. However, that seemingly-easy feat could be in big trouble as the Colorado Buffaloes have taken a 10-0 lead into halftime against the Utes.

Colorado's Tyler Hansen is 16-of-26 for 198 yards. He kicked his big day off with a 12-play, 80-yard drive capped by a 1-yard TD run to open the game. The Buffs added to their leads in the 2nd quarter with a 23-yard field goal.

The Utes have been unable to establish any kind of offensive attack. John Hays is 5-of-7 for 22 yards while John White is their leading rusher with 19 yards on 8 carries.

The rookies of the Pac 12 are set up to become revived rivals in their new conference. A win here by Colorado could help that bad blood along much sooner than expected.
