Oklahoma Vs. Iowa State Score Update: Cyclones Lead Sooners 6-3

Stay connected with SB Nation

Just one week after upsetting Oklahoma State in a Friday night classic, Iowa State is looking to upset the Cowboys' state rival in Norman. The Cyclones have an early first quarter lead on a cold and windy day in Oklahoma. ISU took the 6-3 lead on a Jared Barnett ten yard touchdown pass to Albert Gary. The touchdown came just one play after Oklahoma snapped the ball over the punter's head for a 35 yard loss. The Cyclones immediately capitalized on the Sooner mistake, but missed the extra point for a 6-3 lead.

Oklahoma, on the other hand, was not able to take advantage of two ISU first quarter turnovers. The Cyclones fumbled on just the second play of the game but the Sooners' high-powered offense was unable to punch it in and settled for a Michael Hunnicut field goal. OU was poised to re-take the lead at the end of the first quarter, driving inside the five yard line before Blake Bell was intercepted in the end zone to abruptly end the drive.
