The Georgia Bulldogs are already headed to the SEC Championship game after winning the SEC East, but the 'Dawgs still had a game to play -- and a good one at that -- with an in-state rival. The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets have looked solid early in the game, but they still trail 17-10 at halftime.
Georgia scored the only touchdown of the first quarter when quarterback Aaron Murray connected with Michael Bennett for a 15-yard touchdown pass. Murray would find Chris Conley in the second quarter for a second touchdown pass, too, as he enters hafltime with 193 yards while completing 13 of his 18 passing attempts.
The Bulldogs added a field goal late in the half from Blair Walsh. The senior missed his first attempt from 41 yards, but Georgia Tech called a timeout prior to the kick, allowing him to rectify his earlier miss as he put it through the uprights.
The Yellow Jackets running game has been great as Roddy Jones, Tevin Washington and Embry Peeples have all rushed for at least 28 yards while David Sims put the team's only touchdown on the board from five yards out late in the second quarter.
Georgia Tech punted their first two possessions before kicking a field goal on their third, ending the half with the touchdown run from Sims. Murray threw an interception to end Georgia's first drive before leading his team to score on their next three possessions.
