Iowa State Vs. Oklahoma Halftime Score: Blake Bell Runs Give Sooners Early Lead

The Oklahoma Sooners will not be playing for the BCS National Championship following last weekend's loss to the Baylor Bears, but they still control their own destiny as far as making a BCS bowl game is concerned as long as they win their next two games. The Sooners are on their way to taking care of the first part of that equation as they lead the Iowa State Cyclones 23-6 at halftime.

Iowa State led 6-3 after the first quarter, but the Sooners shutout the Cyclones while scoring on all three of their second quarter possessions. Back-up quarterback Blake Bell was able to sneak the football in twice inside the red zone while Landry Jones continued to handle most of the passing attempts.

Jones completed 15 of his 25 passing attempts in the first half for 187 yards, but it was Bell who showed up more on the big plays. Bell threw an interception on his only passing attempt, but his two rushing touchdowns should make up for that.

Iowa State's only touchdown came when Jared Barnett connected with Albert Gary for a 10-yard score. The ensuing extra point was missed, however, and the Cyclones were never able to score again in the half.
