If you were looking for the team in Madison that will be headed to the Big Ten Championship Game, it was pretty easy to spot. Wisconsin scored 35 points in the second and third quarters combined and then coasted to an easy 45-7 win for the right to face Michigan State next week.
Montee Ball had a performance that drew comparisons to Barry Sanders, running for 156 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries. Russell Wilson was 18-of-28 for 185 yards and a pair of touchdowns; he also had 35 yards rushing on seven carries. The Badgers piled up 31 first downs and 448 yards in the rout.
The game also concludes one of the most tumultuous regular seasons in Penn State history, with Joe Paterno no longer on the sideline and much of the university leadership ousted after a scandal that begin in the football program. Fans now wait to see where the Nittany Lions will go in the postseason.
