Vanderbilt Vs. Wake Forest: Commodores Bowl-Bound After Impressive Win

Stay connected with SB Nation

Usually, when Vanderbilt is involved in a 41-7 game, it's on the wrong side of the scoreboard. This year appears to be a different kind of season for the Commodores, who rolled up 481 yards of total offense and annihilated Wake Forest in Winston-Salem.

Vanderbilt's Jordan Rodgers -- yes, they're brothers -- was 7-of-15 for 139 yards and a touchdown on the game, and Larry Smith added a 45-yard touchdown throw on his only attempt for an absurd passer rating of 808.0. Rodgers also rushed for 90 yards on 16 carries, and star running back Zac Stacy had 184 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries.

The win puts Vanderbilt in a bowl for the first time since the 2008 season. Wake Forest is also likely headed to the postseason with its .500 record.
