Florida State Vs. Florida Halftime Score: Seminoles' Devonta Freeman Scores Twice For 14-0 Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Florida St. Seminoles have just 42 total yards, but they lead the Florida Gators, 14-0, at halftime. The Gators, meanwhile, have 140 total yards and nothing to show for it.

Florida State freshman running back Devonta Freeman picked up both touchdowns on one-yard runs. The Gators had short fields to work with when scoring those points because Florida quarterback John Brantley was picked off twice in the first quarter (the second Freeman touchdown came just seconds into the second quarter). Brantley threw his third pick of the game in the second quarter, but the Seminoles weren't able to capitalize on that.

The teams have combined to go 3-of-15 on third downs, which means there is plenty of room for improvement in the second half of this contest. Of course, Brantley needs to stop throwing picks in order to make that truly happen for the Gators.
