The South Carolina Gamecocks jumped out to a 10-0 lead at the end of the first quarter, but by the middle of the second quarter the Clemson Tigers had battled back to tie the game at 10. A late rushing touchdown by quarterback Connor Shaw put the Gamecocks up at halftime, 17-10.
Shaw has been the offensive star of this game so far. In addition to that 15-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, Shaw totaled 81 yards on the ground and completed 9-of-12 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown. Forty-nine of those yards came on a passing play to Bruce Ellington in the first quarter.
Clemson hasn't gotten much offensively from Tajh Boyd. He's just 4-of-11 passing for 34 yards, but he did throw a nine-yard touchdown pass. Chandler Catanzaro kicked kicked a 32-yard field goal for the Tigers' other points.
