Notre Dame Vs. Stanford Halftime Score: Andrew Luck Brings Cardinal Lead To 21-0

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Stanford Cardinal won't be playing in the Pac-12 Championship Game since Oregon won earlier in the day, but a victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish would go a long way to helping them win a BCS at-large bid. They are halfway there by taking a 21-0 halftime lead against the Irish.

Quarterback Andrew Luck has thrown three touchdown passes so far. He completed five passes for 38 yards on the first touchdown drive, finding Levine Toilolo for a three-yard score. Then with 4:45 left in the second quarter, Luck completed a 10-play, 80-yard drive with a 28-yard strike to Coby Fleener. And just to make things just that much harder for the Irish in the second half, Luck found Ty Montgomery in the endzone for an 11-yard touchdown and the 21-0 lead.

Luck had that chance for a final touchdown because Tommy Rees with about 1:40 left on the clock. But Notre Dame only had the ball because Stepfan Taylor had fumbled the ball on an 11-yard gain, one play after he had gained 31 yards on the ground.
