The Florida Gators currently trail in-state rival Florida State 21-0, but might have lost a key player in their offense. Running back Chris Rainey took a hand off and lost a yard but went down in a heap clutching his knee. Rainey was on the ground clearly in pain as the medical staff tended to him. The trainers were working on Rainey's knee as he lay on his back before helping him off the field.
Rainey hadn't been too effective against the Florida State Seminoles defense, picking up just 42 yards on 15 carries. The Gators had already lost starting quarterback John Brantley to a concussion earlier in the game, but they now lose one of their main offensive weapons. The severity of Rainey's injury is unknown at this point, but he will likely not return to the game.
