The Famous Idaho Potato Bowl has announced that the Utah State Aggies will be one of the two teams playing in their bowl game when it kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 5:30 p.m. The game, played at the stadium of the Boise Statet Broncos, will also feature a team to be determined from the Mid-American Conference.
The Aggies finished their season with a 6-5 record, ensuring themselves of bowl eligibility when they defeated the Nevada Wolfpack last weekend. It was Utah State's fourth-straight victory, ensuring a bit of momentum heading into the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl's festivities.
"Utah State is an ideal team for us to host at the Bowl," said Kevin McDonald, Executive Director of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. "The school is in close proximity to Idaho's potato region, their fans and students are passionate and willing to travel and the team is well‐coached and plays with intensity - qualities that local fans are accustomed to."
SB Nation's Bill Connelly believes that the Aggies will face the MAC's Toledo Rockets in one of the first bowl games of the season, according to his latest 2011 Bowl Projections.
