No. 5 Boise State heads to Las Vegas to take on the UNLV Rebels on Saturday night.
Senior quarterback Kellen Moore is putting together a season that has in the Heisman Trophy mix, completing 75.8 percent of his 228 pass attempts for 2,010 yards and 24 touchdown passes. Moore now has 123 touchdown passes in his career, which ranks fourth all-time. Moore is also one win away from the 46th of his career, which would surpass former Texas Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy for the all-time record.
In his way are the Rebels, who may be 2-5, but are 1-1 within the Mountain West Conference after last week's 38-25 win over the Colorado State Rams. UNLV will want to use running backs Tim Cornett and Dionza Bradford to keep Moore off the field on Saturday. The young duo has combined for 738 yards and five touchdowns on the season. UNLV rarely puts the ball in the air, but when they do, Phillip Payne is their top target. Payne has 29 receptions for 385 yards and six of the team's eight receiving touchdown on the season.
