No. 24 Southern Miss faces Conference USA rival East Carolina on Saturday.

No. 24 Southern Miss. Golden Eagles will be seeking their eighth win of the 2011 season when they visit the 4-4 ECU Pirates in Greenville, North Carolina on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles moved into the Top 25 following their 27-3 win over SMU on October 22 and remained there after last week's 31-13 road win over UTEP. Golden Eagles quarterback Austin Davis has completed 175-of-274 pass attempts for 2,014 yards with 17 touchdowns and eight interceptions on the season.

After a 1-4 start to their season, East Carolina is in must-win mode to keep their bowl streak (five straight) alive. The Pirates' offense has been clicking the last three weeks, averaging 496.3 yards during their current three-game winning streak. Over that stretch, quarterback Dominique Davis has completed 97-of-128 pass attempts for 1,008 yards with six touchdowns and one interception.
