The 10th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks bring their outstanding defense to Fayetteville for a much-anticipated SEC matchup with the eighth- ranked Arkansas Razorbacks.

The Razorbacks own a 12-7 series advantage over the Gamecocks, which including victories in each of the past two meetings.

Last week, South Carolina improved to 7-1 with a 14-3 victory over Tennessee, the third straight win for the Gamecocks since suffering their lone defeat to Auburn by three points. Steve Spurrier's club hasn't allowed more than 16 points in five consecutive games, proof of its defensive dominance. USC is the defending SEC East Division champion and is currently tied with Georgia atop the standings.

Like the Gamecocks, the Razorbacks enter with a 7-1 record, and they have posted four wins in a row since falling to mighty Alabama in late September. Arkansas didn't expect to be pushed to the limit by Vanderbilt last weekend, and Bobby Petrino's club was fortunate to emerge with a 31-28 victory. Only once this season has Arkansas scored fewer than 29 points in a contest.
